WHO WE ARE: ACACIA is a diverse gathering of students, working singles, young married couples, and everything in between, 18 & up. Our name comes from the ACACIA TREE (uh-KAY-shuh), which is a frequent symbol in the Scriptures. We meet in southwest Denver as a part of WEST BOWLES COMMUNITY CHURCH. Our desire is to realize a life that better follows Jesus’ way in the context of relationships with each other. We explore new & old ways of doing this when we get together as church @ WBCC & throughout the week. If you’re looking to really better understand who we are, we invite you to come walk with us for awhile! Here’s a look @ some of the stuff we do together in a typical week…
THURSDAY PM: Thursday’s are the highlight of the week for ACACIA. We look forward to this evening to be together & dig deeper in our faith journey. We often worship in song, share in conversation, and listen in prayer. You’ll find us @ WBCC in the GP Underground starting at 7:00PM.
SUNDAY AM: While ACACIA doesn’t formally get together as a group, we generally like to attend the main service at 10:00AM. The rest of the morning, we’re very involved helping serve in various areas. Many of us give our time working with young kids in Sunday School, Jr. High, or High School Groups. Our main area, though, is running the Gathering Place Coffee Bar. Our group volunteers to run the coffee bar, and in turn we receive 100% of the profits towards our group projects & missions. If you’re visiting on Sunday morning, look for us there!
SUNDAY PM: Sunday evenings are a great time to get involved with ACACIA. Depending on the time of year, we may be involved in anything from a friendly game of indoor soccer, to a movie & discussion, to a group project. Whatever we’re up to, we usually try to go out afterwards and eat together. In general, we meet at the church @ 6:30PM, and we stay out as long as the conversation is fresh and places are open. Join us!
